Jay received his Bachelor’s degree in Exercises Science from the University of South Carolina in 2014 where he also had the privilege of competing on the swim team for 4 years, learning the value of hard work and perseverance. He then went on to earn his Doctor of Physical Therapy from the University of St. Augustine in Austin in 2018 and has been working in the outpatient/sport setting for the past 4 years with a growing interest in biomechanics and how movement and patterns impact function.
Jay is currently pursuing further education through the Postural Restoration Institute where he is learning to explore the science of postural adaptations, asymmetrical patterns and the influence of polyarticular chains of muscles. His passion is to decrease pain and improve function through specific biomechanical changes tailored to each individual patient, beginning with the basics and progressing through to higher level activities and exercises based on desired goals of each person.
In his free time, Jay enjoys spending time with his wife Courtney and little Frenchie Ziva. He has developed a passion for triathlons now so is often rolling through the many trails of White Rock on the weekends. He is always up for a round of golf, a hike through the “hills” of Texas, or reading a good book at home.
